Exclamation THE most important addition needed

I know this has been mentioned countless times but I personally feel the game really needs it, so the more Anet see it, the better. I'm talking about and in-game AUCTION.

OK, I don't know how hard it would be, or how to fully impliment it but the positives it would give are tremendous. Here's some I can think of.

1) No more "WTS ..." spamming in the chat windows. This does my head in. You can't use chat as it is intended half the time.

2) The economy of the game would be better. Why? Well, lets say you do a mission and end up with loads of materials. What do you do with most of them? Sell them to the merchant. The more that's done of this, the cheaper the items become, making it less viable for you to sell to other players, meaning you're going to dump it on the merchant, which means the price drops more ... and so on. By having an auction where you could sell materials, more private sales would be made and things like bolts of cloth would then be worth something.

3) Easier aquasition of items you're looking for. Need a FDS? Chances are there'll be one on the auction. Making the game better for you (and the seller of course).

4) Possible increase in speed on this website! I know it sounds strange, but the GWG webby does a great job in providing an auction for us all. However, it's not perfect. You're relying on both parties to be genuine and have to wait for each party to be online before you can complete the transaction. Also, not having the auction section on the site has got to help the server load.

On a side note though, anyone associated with GWG. What is your stance on the auction? Would you prefer it was ingame so you didn't have to provide one, or do you prefer it on here?

Again, I know it's been mentioned but the more we bother them, the more they'll listen.

arent they adding this very soon. Thought it was going to be in the same structure as the Team building (for specific missions) addition coming end of this month.

And Finally, Thank you ANET for allowing armor storage to become a reality!

In-game auctions would be a great, if not the best, addition to Guild Wars. I hate having to spam WTS in the trade window only to see it overspammed by others so many times, or when you're looking what they're selling it just goes too fast sometimes. I know I can just put up my stuff on GWG, but that makes me leave the game, make the post, put up a screenshot (optional, but don't tell me it doesn't help) and wait for a seller and hope he's not trying to scam me.
Also, as you said, it will dramaticaly reduce the WTS spam outside the Trade window and we'll actually be able to chat, now I have my "all" channel tured off 99% of the time just not to be overflowed by trading messages...

Time will tell if it will be introduced or not.
No need in making yet another post becoz you think it's somewhat important sorry.

Never the less i'm still supporting this.

PS. Thread will be closed soon... mark my words

I honestly don't see how an auction house will help. People will just flood the chat next to put it up on auction. Also, it'll make the richer people stay rich and the poorer be poor. And what's this all about people saying they were working on it or they promised it. I've send an e-mail about the trade channel being used too little (had a bad day) and they were saying they were currently working on trade improvements and later on the trade window showed only gold offered, not platinum. Please gimme a link or screenshot where Anet or Gaile promised it.

BTW, what do you need ingame money for that you aren't gonna spend?

It's not the most important addition.

The most important addition would be a ban filter who keeps people who don't search away from GW and GWG.

1. If you know it's been brought up before, do not make a new thread.

2. If you don't know, check the Index of Ideas and search. If the idea has come up before and you want to discuss it, post in an old thread.

3. Please state your idea in the thread title next time you post a thread here.

4. Beating dead horses harms the environment of Sardelac - as if it isn't already bad enough from the Searing...

Closed.
